When it comes to work wear I like to wear luxe items. It gives the whole outfit a style bump and makes you look more successful. However I do not have a luxe budget. I have a sale rack budget which makes it difficult, but not impossible, to stay fashion forward and also have nice pieces that last. This is why I am ecstatic when I find a luxurious clothing item at an affordable sale price. I mean we all hate it when we see that luxe item on the sale rack so we get excited until we look at the tag and realize the $300 jacket has only been reduced to $275. I mean come on nobody who shops the sale rack is going to be excited about that.
This is why I was sooooo excited when I found this genuine suede skirt on the Banana Republic clearance rack. The situation was perfect. It was an extra 60% percent off clearance day when I stumbled upon it giving me hope that it might not be too expensive. Then I looked at the tag. It was an originally $230 item that had been reduced to $42 plus I got the extra 60% off making it just under $17. You can’t beat that! It was the only one left and just happened to be in my size which never happens of course. It is my first ever genuine leather clothing item that I have ever owned and when I wear it I feel so expensive.
For my second look in my “Boss Babe” series I paired this skirt with a white shirt from H&M and my new Franco Sarto burgundy pumps. To finish off the look I carried my berry Kate Spade bag and wore simple gold jewelry with my JORD watch.
