We all want to look our best at work. But how can you do that when you have a small budget? It’s not impossible but I’m not going to lie it can be a bit difficult and you definitely need a lot of perseverance.
The tips I will be sharing below have helped me and I hope they can help you too.
I know what you’re thinking “don’t you get free clothes because you’re a blogger?” Well the answer to that is mostly no. Sometimes I get a free item or two every blue moon but I always disclose free items in my posts.
So long story short I still use these tips to help me have trendy work outfits on a teacher budget.
How To Have Great Work Outfits On A Small Budget
1. Buy mostly neutral and classic items. It’s just like you’ve always heard neutrals go with everything which means more wears for you. Also classic styles never go out of fashion and you can pair them with a few trendy items to make your outfit more current.
2. End of season clearance racks will be your best friend. I am constantly searching clearance racks for quality pieces that I know will last. I have found though that the best time to look is towards the end of the seasons. These are the best months to buy end of season clearance. Spring: May Summer: July Fall: October Winter: February
3. Allow yourself to buy one or two trendy items. Has that gorgeous velvet blazer been calling your name? Or have you fallen in love with a bell sleeved top? That’s great allow yourself a little wiggle room to add these items because you can pair them with your classic, neutral items. My one piece of advice is to go cheap on your trendy items because the trends will only last for so long.
4. Take care of your clothing. It might seem more expensive to get something dry cleaned over hand washing it, but, hand washing will damage the fabric. So it actually ends up being cheaper to get it dry cleaned every once in a while. Just be sure to always read the care instruction and follow them to a tee. In fact I never ever put any of my nice items in the dryer because that is where the most damage really occurs.
Shop The Look:
I added two product widgets because this blazer comes in several colors. However the website lists them all as separate products so I thought I would make it easier for you to shop them.
