So last night we had our open house at the school where I teach. I love getting to meet my students’ parents but boy am I tired by the end of the evening. One thing that really stood out to me was a parent who told me how much her son misses me being his teacher. He goes to the middle school I used to teach at but his sister goes to my school. This made me feel so good; especially on a day when I had experienced something very discouraging.
My AP Music Theory students had their first chapter test yesterday and lets just say that most of my students did not do well. I had to remind myself that just because my students didn’t do well doesn’t mean that I am a bad teacher. In fact I had several students who scored extremely high on the exam. Plus after getting their tests back I had some students come to me to ask for tutorials and I had more students asking questions in class instead of them remaining silent when I ask if they understand the concepts. So hopefully their grades will improve.
Now for this gorgeous look. This white blazer is from White House Black Market. I know what you are thinking. Why am I wearing white after Labor Day? Well in my opinion that is an old outdated fashion rule and does not need to be followed. White can be worn year round without any repercussions.
I paired the jacket with my purple top from Ann Taylor that seriously goes with anything. Then I added my black Zara jeggings with the distressing around the knees. To finish off the look I accessorized with a matching wool fedora, black and silver snake chain necklace that plays off the edgy feel of this outfit and simple black pumps.
